Goal: To enhance adult literacy, numeracy, and school resource management across informal settlements and marginalised rural communities.
Intervention Pathway: If we design and execute a Train-the-Trainer model utilising standardised assessment tools (UWEZO Assessment Tool) and coordinate a deep network of community volunteers, local women and school supervisors will gain the practical skills needed to elevate community education standards.
High illiteracy rates among adult populations and operational inefficiencies in rural and informal settlement schools limited community development and educational progression.
Design and lead a Training-of-Trainers model for the Kajiado Women Empowerment Programme and oversee the standardised delivery of the Schools of Hope model.
- M&E Framework Execution: Designed and led a Training-of-Trainers model utilising the UWEZO Assessment Tool to track progress, measure literacy gains, and ensure evidence-based educational delivery across 9 sites.
- Extensive Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinated a network of 100+ community volunteers supporting programme delivery across Kenya and Tanzania, including participatory onboarding, continuous support, and stakeholder-driven workshops.
- Resource Mobilisation & Financial Accountability: Authored a successful grant proposal to the Desai Memorial Foundation, securing $5,000+ (KES 650,000) in books and library materials, alongside training school supervisors on resource management with transparent budget tracking.
- Reached 1,650+ women and 200+ men through the empowerment programme, with 60%+ of participants advancing to a higher literacy or numeracy level (measured objectively via the UWEZO Assessment Tool).
- Improved school operational efficiency by 35% through targeted supervisor training.
